As the EU-WEBPSI project draws to a close, it is time for the project partners to share the key findings and results of their joint work on standards, training and practice in public service interpreting.

Join our end-of-project symposium to:

  • Explore the progress we’ve made in PSI standards and training
  • Hear firsthand insights from our partners and trainees about:
    • Delivering PSI training for languages of lesser diffusion
    • Working within asylum and reception contexts
  • Discover the EU-WEBPSI portal
  • Connect with project partners and network with stakeholders from the field

For whom?

The symposium is open to organisations, researchers, trainers, service providers and stakeholders in the field of asylum and reception and other areas of public service interpreting (e.g. health, education,  integration).

When and where?

We have created not 1 but 2 dates to give everyone the opportunity to participate:

  • Join us in person on 5 June, 1-5 PM CEST, at the Department of Translation, Interpreting and Communication of Ghent University:

News

We are excited to announce that the EU-WEBPSI portal is live! This major project deliverable has been achieved and is now being tested by the project partners to make sure it fits the project objectives.

It features:

  • A learning environment, where you can request access to train-the-trainer material for PSI training.
  • A booking tool, to match public services with interpreting providers
  • A video-tool, to easily connect to the interpreter without downloading any extra software

Do you want to know more? Join one of the planned webinars and get to know the EU-WEBPSI portal!

During this webinar you will discover:

  • What the EU-WEBPSI project is
  • Why it was launched and what it aims for in terms of public service interpreting provision.
  • What it has achieved:
    • The EU-WEBPSI model of PSI minimal standards
    • 8 Train-the-trainer modules for PSI training
    • The EU-WEBPSI portal (including short demo)

The EU-WEBPSI portal is currently being tested by the project partners, and therefore access is restricted: don’t miss this chance of discovering the partners-only booking tool and giving us your feedback before the project completion!

We look forward to sharing this project result with you!

On 23rd March, the EU-WEBPSI project was presented at the 8th Public Service Interpreting and Translation conference organised by the University of Alcalà, in Spain. Project goals and first results were introduced to a very interested audience of experts in PSI training and research. It was a very enriching opportunity to meet other researchers aiming to make an impact on refugees and migrants’ access to basic rights.
